Graduate Students

A number of graduate students will be working at the Austin Bat Hospital on their own projects this year. One is already here recording bat calls. Another is coming in a month to investigate echolocation calls in the flight cage. Another will be here in a couple of months to work with red bat babies. I am happy to be able to provide them with a place where they can investigate various aspects of bats in a noninvasive manner.

Devil Boy

I got a poor little free-tail that has an injury to his tail. It was badly injured and split in two so that it looks like he has a forked tail! I'm going to remove some of the tissue so he only has one tip. Bone is exposed on one side, so I may have to remove a bit of bone later. Poor little devil boy. Still, he is eating well and much healthier than he was at first.
